This monograph deals with optimal control problems in which the cost functional is a product of powers of definite integrals. In particular, it considers cost functionals of the form of a quotient of definite integrals and their relation to finite-interval H control, performance robustness and model reduction. The book is directed towards graduate students and researchers in modern control theory. It presents a general technique for the synthesis of controllers, and indicates several problems for further research.
